Introducing KODAK eyeCamera 4.1. It's Amazing!

Today is the day - introducing the revolutionary KODAK eyeCamera 4.1!
This is the kind of breakthrough idea that makes us wonder why we didn't come up with it sooner.

Here is the full scoop on this feature-rich, eye popper...

"What you see is what you get" Viewfinder
- Now you can take that photo at the exact moment you see that special scene. Don't try this while driving as objects may be closer than they appear.

Facial Recall Assistant - We have all been there...you are at a party, "I know her. Oh, geesh, she is coming this way...Hello, er, um..." How embarassing. Well, worry no more. This handy feature connects to a customizable "BFF file" connected to your Facebook page. Go to parties and reunions with confidence! Hello Marci, long time no see! Like my stylin' new specs?

Image Stabilizer - After a glass of wine or two, this feature will ensure that all of your photos are razor sharp, maybe even sharper than you remember. Our patented "I love you man Gyro Adjuster" was tested at numerous focus groups and it worked perfectly...I think.

Isn't the design captivating? Our engineers worked very hard to come up with a look that is hardly noticeable from regular eye glasses. Fashionistas everywhere will be clamoring for this accessory to wear at red-carpet events. Okay, back to the features...

Selective Auto-Focus & Zoom
- See something you like? Just look, focus, zoom & snap! This is a new feature so use it wisely. It might get you in trouble at the beach so practice at home first.

Wink and Shoot Shutter - Taking photos is now as easy as a winking! We use our patented eyeVu technology to activate only on a wink, not a blink. When you have a cold and are sneezing it is advised you not wear your KODAK eyeCamera 4.1 or you will get pictures of your feet (think about it).

Digital X-Ray Vision - No way? Yes way! In partnership with the Superman Corporation located in the Fortress of Solitude, we co-developed this amazing feature at a bargain price. But remember, even though you will be able to see through walls and closed doors you will not be able to walk through them.

Panoramic Mode - Achieved merely by employing classic Kodak ease-of-use and turning one's head 360- degrees

The KODAK eyeCamera 4.1 is social media compatible so you will be able to stream your life 24x7! Easy photo uploads to Facebook, Flickr, KODAK Gallery, and Twitter are a snap. Now you can impress your friends with an endless stream of photos to accompany the running commentary of text updates you currently provide.

But wait, there's more! The KODAK eyeCamera 4.1 comes with a ton of cool accessories too.

  • Super zoom. Oh baby! If standard zoom isn't enough we have the answer (comes with neck brace).
  • Lens lashes - Available in natural, bat, and flirt lengths
  • Baseball cap printer. For prints on the go. The cap's bill is the paper tray! Clever.
  • Dual lens steroscopic option lets you take photos in 3-D
  • Flash earrings. Genuine CZ (cubic zirconia) rechargeable flash with unmatched cut, clarity, color, and coruscation (look it up ;-)
The team at Kodak is proud to announce yet another breakthrough product. We also want you do do one thing for us when someone looks at you while wearing the new KODAK eyeCamera 4.1. Be sure to...

We think we are really on to something with the KODAK eyeCamera 4.1. Don't you?

Comment: cool, but its a fake, right?

Posted By: LLI (4/13/2009)

Comment: Funny. On a visit to MIT 3 years ago I put this idea on their "wish list" bulletin board. If I thought of it then, there must be a market for it by now.

Posted By: Corey (4/7/2009)

Comment: I wasn't sure what to make of all of this! It is really a neat idea, but would obviously pose many significant problems or hurdles, etc. Nevertheless, what should I make of this? I assume this is fake?

Posted By: pogo (4/6/2009)

Comment: congrats--you got posted in EPUK.org great idea and funk, but should have been binocular just for the sake of the nose. just think what Kodak could do with a nyr helmet... all kinds of options over there. unfortuantely doesn't change the losing perspective... faceshield could be used as wide-angle lens and mirror, coming in your favorite headgear options: star wars, nyr, panthers, coyotes--but not islanders, devils or anything from pittsburgh or philly, please.

Comment: BTW - Tina is way cuter than Cathy.

Posted By: rikonjohn (4/3/2009)

Comment: The technology exists to build this. Do it. Without the "faux fashion" flippery. I'd buy it if the price was reasonable and the weight light enough. No neck braces.

Posted By: William Barnett-Lewis (4/2/2009)

Comment: Sad part is, I'm not sure if this would sell better than a nice new 120 (6x9) #2 Brownie would to the Lomo children... Multi-color leatherette of course...

Posted By: Noah Zerkin (4/2/2009)

Comment: Hey... I don't get it. What's so funny? ;-) I'm shocked that you haven't included a geo-tagging capability. Will that be a later aftermarket accessory? Thank you for much yummy silliness! :-D

Posted By: John (4/1/2009)

Comment: This April Fools Day prank is absolute coruscation. Thanks Kodak, I have learned a new word!

Posted By: Allison (4/1/2009)

Comment: "Isn't this design captivating?" LOL. That's hilarious.

Posted By: ofrem 10 (4/1/2009)

Comment: Yo, you got it for $41? Where? I went to my local Radio Shack and got it for, like 675$..... :(

Posted By: Brian Pawlowski (4/1/2009)

Comment: Highly amusing. Thanks for the laugh today - needed that. And thanks for the many years of great products and service.

Posted By: john (4/1/2009)

Comment: do you think it is too small.

Posted By: evivs (4/1/2009)

Comment: no it is not ... it is actually quite big, a really good one from KODAK, I really like it.

Posted By: Evivs (4/1/2009)

Comment: do you think it is too small.

Posted By: anthony hopper (4/1/2009)

Comment: That was pretty good, who ever thought of that should be given a raise, because thats pretty funny

Posted By: http:// (4/1/2009)

Comment: LOL I feel ranginess in someone got laid out by Kodak

Posted By: http:// (4/1/2009)

Comment: I'd like to know exactly how much money and how many hours was WASTED on putting this together? Now I understand why Kodak has announced the closing of two buildings in Colorado and relocation of the production housed there to other sites. Obviously there are too many people with too much time on their hands that need something more constructive to do. The most amazing part of this is that SOMEBODY IN CORPORATE MANAGEMENT ACTUALLY APPROVED THIS STUNT! It's no wonder that the company is circling the bowl for the final time. I hope that all involved are enjoying the little joke...maybe it will give you something to look back on and laugh at as you're waiting for your unemployment checks to come.

Posted By: Tina Clark (4/1/2009)

Comment: It was great fun being a "model" for this - luckily was having a great hair day. I've been called alot of things, but today was the first time I was called a "Borg".

Posted By: Charmaine Lee (4/1/2009)

Comment: WE are Borg resistance is futile! You forgot to add that reading glasses are no longer needed. Great joke!

Posted By: Thomas Hoehn (4/1/2009)

Comment: THANK YOU ALL for the product enhancement ideas. We will take them under advisement. Relative to colors we are offering it in blue, brown and hazel. Red-eye is not available. Keep those suggestions coming! -tom from Kodak

Posted By: Sonia (4/1/2009)

Posted By: Patric (4/1/2009)

Comment: Now...what if someone really comes up with this ideal for real...and beats Kodak to the punch. Does in the future EyeVid? I want one...how much. LOL

Posted By: avril loof (4/1/2009)

Comment: Astounding! but what if I wear Bifocals? do you have an accessory lens for those of us that were bifocals? I think it would be great boon to the older population of America... especially those of us who have degenerative arthritis and find it difficult to hold or squeeze anything. God bless you Kodak!

Posted By: Dori (4/1/2009)

Comment: I want to get this for my mom... when are you actualy going to make it? LOL

Posted By: Dori (4/1/2009)

Posted By: Joe Nardone (4/1/2009)

Comment: why did I ever have lasik surgery..if only I waited for the eyeCamnera!

Posted By: Rockie (4/1/2009)

Comment: In these crazy times, it's a joy that Kodak would take time and effort to make us laugh with that advertisement! This, along with a faux press release by a blogger stating that Kodak was reissuing the Brownie: http://randomphoto.blogspot.com/2009/04/kodaks-new-product-announcement.html Great stuff! Thanks for the jokes and jollies!

Posted By: Jennifer vE (4/1/2009)

Comment: I could have used one of these this morning to see who put the rubber duckies in the water cooler! But I want one in pink to match my M1033.

Posted By: Curious (4/1/2009)

Comment: Are you planning a Binocular version?

Posted By: J. Xu (4/1/2009)

Comment: Another idea -- why not use KODAK dual lens technology, that would cover both the left and the right eye. LOL.

Posted By: The Brit (4/1/2009)

Comment: But is there a button that gives you the ability to fly? I understand the consumer price for this thing is $10 billion. What a deal. Ha! ha!

Posted By: MAD (4/1/2009)

Comment: Darn, I am really disappointed it does not have a snorkel attachment for my underwater picture taking. I would definitely have bought one....

Posted By: Digital Debby (4/1/2009)

Comment: I love it, I'm sure to get one. Does it come in other colors?

Posted By: http:// (4/1/2009)

Comment: I fail to understand how this effort is leading to increased cash flow which this company so desperately needs. Jokes may be fun, but work on real products that earn money is better...and lead to more fun off working hours.

Posted By: Mark (4/1/2009)

Comment: Great idea, but I thought you guys were going retro: http://randomphoto.blogspot.com/2009/04/kodaks-new-product-announcement.html

Posted By: Dave K. (4/1/2009)

Comment: Nice. Does it come with a Sham-Wow? Or a Chia Pet? And what if I'm left-eye dominant? ;-]

Posted By: Gyro Adjuster lover (4/1/2009)

Comment: "I love you man Gyro Adjuster"...TOO FUNNY! I was reading this article on whattheythink.com and had to check the Kodak site just to make SURE this wasn't for real! Happy April Fools!!

Posted By: Gus Suggs, Durham, NC (4/1/2009)

Comment: HILARIOUS! Bravo! What a GREAT sense of humor! That reminds me of the following article I came across this morning while drinking my organic digital coffee: Rochester, MN - A new cereal made entirely of edible camera parts is scheduled to be unveiled today, April 1, simultaneously in Rochester MN and Rochester NY. Made entirely of recyled one time use film cameras, this new brand of "Extra Special K" may even be capable of taking your picture while you eat. "It's crunchy, I'll say that about it", chuckled Dr. George Westman, a leading scientist on the project Dr. Westman boasts that his car has been edible since 2005. "I'll never go hungry on long distance trips again" he boasts. His next venture is an edible airplane so that "consumers won't have to depend on airlines for snacks". The FDA has given tentative approval to the new "Extra Special K" and investors are hungry for more details. Skeptics are more dubious. Georgie Southpeople expressed the concerns of many: "I'm not sure I want an analog cereal".

Comment: "I love you man" Gyro adjuster-- priceless! Thanks for a great way to kick off April. P.S: Tina & Cathy, your auditions as Borg extras in the next Star Trek movies look great! ;-)

Comment: Welcome new Kodak! Best home page ever! T and C make great models, sshhh let's not don't tell them that, don't want them pursuing alternative careers.

Posted By: Jerry m (4/1/2009)

Comment: What a wonderful product. I am holding out till they offer it with Ginzu knife set and laser guided putting feature on QVC. Nice job, thanks for brightening my day.

Posted By: GeologyJoe (4/1/2009)

Comment: HaHa. Maybe someday Kodak, But not today. Take the idea to R&D and try to make it for real.

Posted By: Steve Miller (4/1/2009)

Comment: Resistance is futile... I want one! ;)

Posted By: soccerdad (4/1/2009)

Comment: Thank you Kodak- you finally came out with a product that solves a real problem for me. I am the team photographer for my daughter's soccer team and often miss a lot of the action as I peer through the camera viewfinder. With this, I'll never miss another action again! BTW, I am also a hunter- can you build into this a high power laser (perhaps 100W CO2)? I would love to have one - it brings new meaning to "you get what you see". (The military will love you too but perhaps in 4 to 8 years from now). It could be an accessory, and I have some ideas to help you with a neck brace that can support the 200 lb mass. Let me patent it first and I'll send you the idea. Soccer dad

Posted By: John F (4/1/2009)

Comment: LOL funny - my sides are hurting from laughing and just in time for the summer season - happy fooling!

Posted By: Kendall (4/1/2009)

Comment: This is all very well and good, but I'm waiting for the nostrilcam. I like to photograph everything I eat, bite by bite, and the nostrilcam will eliminate the need to bend my neck while doing so.

Comment: Startling security leak! You left whiteboard drawings available in your planning conf room. I photgraphed them with my phone and sent 'em to covert contacts at Google startups. They paid me 5 million and plan to release with a built-in eyebrow flash.

Response: Doh! How could we have been so careless! Only $5M? You were fleeced :-P

Posted By: Gabe Meyers (4/1/2009)

Comment: That's the best..... I was almost ready to buy one.... I really liked the digital xray vision!! Great job!! Happy April Fools Day!!

Posted By: JD Norman (4/1/2009)

Comment: I've been working on a hat mounted version that also included a voice recognition blue tooth earpiece. your's is much cooler...back to the drawing board.

Posted By: Carol P. (4/1/2009)

Comment: Hey! What a fantastic idea! I've always said, wouldn't it be great to be able to take pics of everything you saw! This will make Falcon Watching much easier. ;-)

Posted By: Naseer Khalid (4/1/2009)

Comment: Wow. amaz.. what would be the proposed price

Posted By: Bharat Varma (4/1/2009)

Comment: You know something - my opthalmologist really needs something like this. Seriously, she is in her 40s, has distant vision and the last time I visited her she mentioned the problem she had while carrying out surgery where her assistant had to keep changing her spectacles for her. I wondered why someone didn't create a pair of spectacles with built in eye controlled auto-focus (similar to the AF in some high end Canon EOS slr's). You could simple look at a spot and the spectacles could focus instantly on it. Take this idea seriously please - you will find a huge demand for this in the medical profession, especially with surgeons. Innovation is the name of the game today.
